A BANK is to open its doors on New Year’s Day for the first time – to meet customer demand.
Barclays, Pinstone Street, Sheffield, will welcome in the New Year by opening from 10am to 2pm on Tuesday, January 1, as part of a programme to extend opening hours across the Bank Holiday calendar and meet demand.
This is the first time any branch of Barclays in England and Wales has opened on New Year’s Day since it became recognised as an official Bank Holiday in 1974.
Richard Chapman, branch manager said: “In response to customers evolving needs, customers now have more choice about when they want to visit the branch.
“We are delighted to offer our customers the opportunity to see us outside the traditional banking times.”
