BAKEWELL SHOW: Cakes and buns to water in Uganda - SLIDESHOW
WOMEN'S Institute members are well know for sharing recipes and creating delicious treats but this year they are more determined than ever to spread their message internationally.
The Derbyshire Federation created a stir with its tent full of impressive food and crafts ranging from cakes and buns to jam and pickles.
It is celebrating its 90th year by raising almost 3,000 for a water project in the Kirinda area of Uganda.
Groups are raising cash in a number of ways to upgrade seven springs, create two bore holes and train 12 people in how to keep water clean.
The project follows hot on the heels of funding a pickle making project in India and the aim of both is to give useful skills that can be passed on and on.
Federation member Susan Watkins said: "The WI is a wonderful organisation and it is all about education. It is in our genetic make-up to carry on learning so people can join their local WI because we have a strong educational theme. It is all about learning."
