A bag containing medical equipment was stolen from a car in Sheffield.

The bag was left in a car parked overnight in John Calvert Road, Woodhouse.

South Yorkshire Police said the bag did not contain any medication, but equipment belonging to somebody who works in the care industry.

It was later found discarded close by.

Nothing had been stolen.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A bag containing medical equipment was stolen. This was later found complete and returned to its rightful owner.

"As there were no signs of forced entry it is believed access may have been gained by a remote scanning device which can unlock the vehicle.

"Please remain vigilant to items left inside your vehicle.

"Remove valuables and where possible leave your glove box open so passers by can see there is nothing of value in there."
