Bag a must-have fashion accessory and raise cash for charity
THEY might not be a traditional mayoral accessory but Charibags are becoming a fashion-must for many Sheffielders.
As Lord Mayor Coun Jane Bird's year in office drew to a close she took time out to help launch a new collection of reusable Charibags.
She joined the Charibag team encouraging people to buy one of the bags – helping to reduce the number of plastic bags, save the environment and raise cash for Sheffield Children's Hospital.
The environmentally-friendly fundraiser has already saved more than 4.5 million plastic bags from being used in and around Sheffield as well as raising over 30,000 for the hospital charity, city schools and the South Yorkshire flood appeal.
The new collection of Charibags is now on sale in The Star shop on York Street or visit the website www.chariband.co.uk to buy one.
