A baby boy hurt in a crash in South Yorkshire is still fighting for life this morning.

The eight-week-old was in a red Mini Cooper which was involved in a crash with a white Scania HGV on the A1 in Doncaster at 1.50pm yesterday.

Both vehicles were travelling northbound when they crashed just after junction 36 for Warmsworth.

The baby boy was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said the 56-year-old man driving the HGV and the 42-year-old woman driving the Mini were unharmed.
