Award-winning bitter at House

award-winning Barnsley Bitter is to be served as the guest ale in Parliament.

Michael Dugher, Labour MP for Barnsley East, has secured a deal for Acorn Brewery, which brews the beer, to supply it to the Strangers’ Bar in the House of Commons.

The brewery was started up by chief brewer Dave Hughes and his wife Judi in 2003 and both were invited to Parliament for the first pint.

Mr Dugher said: “It is brilliant to be able to share some of Barnsley’s finest produce with colleagues in Parliament.”
