A HARD-working Barnsley volunteer has been recognised for his dedication and service to RSPB Old Moor nature reserve at a volunteer thank-you event.
Patrick Harvey is a member of the Wetland Workforce – a group of volunteers with learning disabilities and a part of Barnsley Employment and Volunteering Service – which carries out essential maintenance and quality assurance checks on the reserve.
Patrick, who has been working at the site for over five years, was honoured at the volunteer event for his continuing commitment and was awarded a certificate and special commemorative badge.
Liane Holdsworth, visitor experience officer at the reserve, said: “The Wetland Workforce is an important part of the everyday work on the reserve.
“We are so pleased to be able to give Patrick this award. He is a pleasure to work with and a great asset to the site.”
Tina Redhall, Employment and Volunteer Coordinator at the Employment and Volunteering Service, said: “I think it is brilliant Patrick has been given this recognition of his hard work. All of the workforce enjoy their time here.”
