CAMPAIGNERS in favour of electoral reform were gathering for a ‘flash mob’ event in Sheffield today as part of the push for a ‘Yes’ vote in the referendum on the Alternative Vote system.
Yes to Fairer Votes supporters were due to stand still for two minutes bearing purple signs and placards at Sheffield rail station, from 4.30pm - as hundreds of people passed through the station on their way home.
Yes! to Fairer Votes was welcoming anyone who supports a yes vote at the referendum to join in the flash mob. Supporters were due to meet at 4.15pm outside the station.
Yes to Fairer Votes in Sheffield spokeswoman Emily Wilkie said: “The flash mob will be fun, friendly, and free.
“It is a way of emphasising the importance of a Yes vote for the future of our democracy.”
