At least two more flights are planned for the world’s last remaining flying Vulcan bomber before she is grounded forever, her owners have confirmed.

Thousands of fans turned out across the country to see the iconic Cold War aircraft this weekend as she undertook a marathon two day “Farewell to Flight” tour across the UK.

But owners Vulcan To The Sky Trust have confirmed there will be “at least two more” flights which are due to be announced later this month.

There were fears last weekend’s tour would have to be axed over safety fears with thousands of enthusiasts expected to descend on XH558’s home at Robin Hood Airport to catch a glimpse of the aircraft.

But the plane took off and landed successfully on both days following warnings from police and VTTS chiefs.
