Arts receive big cash boost

FOUR organisations which promote the arts in Sheffield are to receive a big cash boost.

Arts Council England has revealed it is to invest 8.1 million in the area over the next three years.

Eventus, based in the Workstation, Paternoster Row, will receive an 85 per cent increase in funding up to 2011.

Access Space in Sydney Street will receive 50 per cent more funding to develop digital arts programme and Signposts, in Rockingham Lane, which provides writing support will receive an 85 per cent increase. Workstation-based Vincent Dance Theatre will receive a 103 per cent increase.
