A BARNSLEY-born artist who almost died from a life-threatening condition is staging a new exhibition of his work in the town.
Keith Blessed, who now lives in Whitby, is holding the show called Moods of Moor and Coast from tomorrow at the Cooper Gallery in Barnsley.
Four years ago Keith, who was born in Bolton-upon-Dearne, was diagnosed with inflammation of the heart and spent five months in hospital.
But he has battled back to fitness and fulfilled his dream of being able to paint again.
Keith is known for painting seascapes and landscapes in soft pastels.
He said he hoped his story would be an inspiration to others with long-term illnesses.
