Arsonists are being hunted over a series of blazes across South Yorkshire.

Yesterday afternoon firefighters were called out to deal with a pile of lorry tyres set alight in Sutherland Road, Attercliffe, Sheffield.

On Saturday a skip was torched in Greengate Lane, High Green, Sheffield; trees and baking were set alight at the Old Moor Wetland Centre RSPB reserve, Wombwell and a van was fired in Stainton Lane, Wilsic, Doncaster.

On Friday, an outbuilding was set alight in Remington Road, Parson Cross, Sheffield and cars were torched in Church Street, Swinton, Rotherham; Wormley Hill Road, Sykehouse, Doncaster; Wheel Lane, Grenoside, Sheffield and Pye Bank Road, Pitsmoor.

Over the weekend firefighters also dealt with a bale of hay found burning in Crookes Lane, Carlton, Barnsley and a car found engulfed in flames in Staveley Street,Edlington, Doncaster.
