Vehicles were torched in a series of arson attacks in South Yorkshire overnight.

At 2.45am today a vehicle was set alight in Kinnaird Road, Shiregreen, Sheffield and the flames spread to a nearby garage.

Firefighters were also called out to deal with a Ford Ka torched in Highstone Park, Worsbrough Common, Barnsley, at 2.10am.

At 9.15pm last night a Ford Transit van was set on fire on Beevor Street, Hoyle Mill, Barnsley.

Piles of rubbish were set alight in Chippingham Street, Darnall, Sheffield and Canklow Road, Canklow, Rotherham.
