Arson attack on terrace

FIRE crews spent almost four hours dealing with an arson attack on a row of derelict houses in Edlington, Doncaster, on Sunday.

Edlington and Maltby firefighters were called to Roberts Road about 4am after reports of fire taking hold in a block of four houses.

They called for the aerial ladder platform to tackle the flames from above.

About three-quarters of the terrace was involved in the blaze, which was finally put out before 8am.

A fire service spokesman said the fire had been started deliberately.
