A recruitment evening for a Sheffield Army Reserve unit is to take place tomorrow.

The event to sign up more people to 106 Field Squadron Royal Engineers is to be held at Bailey Barracks, Greenhill Parkway, between 7.30m and 9.30pm.

Visitors will be able to speak to soldiers from the unit and see the latest kit and equipment used by the British Army.

Brigadier JW. Ogden, Army Recruiting Group director of operations, said: “Joining the Army Reserve is an opportunity for anyone looking to do something extra with their spare time and benefit from a rewarding experience.

“Reservists can find themselves helping people affected by emergencies in the UK, serving in combat operations overseas, or taking part in adventurous training, such as skiing in Canada or trekking in Morocco.

“This event aims to showcase the range of jobs, world-class training and development prospects available to anyone interested in joining.”

The evening is part of a Government drive to sign up thousands of new volunteers to the Army Reserve, previously known as the Territorial Army.
