OLD military colleagues were reunited when a triple amputee soldier who has written a book about his ordeal came to Sheffield for a book-signing session.

Andy Reid, a former Corporal in Third Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment who lost both legs and one arm in a bomb blast in Afghanistan in 2009, was at Asda in Handsworth.

Andy’s book, Standing Tall, tells of his recovery against the odds from injuries which doctors thought he would not survive.

While at the store, he was reunited with old colleague Chris Gregory, from Birley.

As well as signing books Andy, who was in 3 Yorks and previously the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment for 15 years, was collecting donations for the Army Benevolent Fund charity.
