FORMER armed forces colleagues of Sheffield’s new Lord Mayor will form a guard of honour for him at his civic service on Sunday.
The service is held at Sheffield Cathedral each year as part of the inauguration for the new Mayor.
This year’s event, for Coun John Campbell, takes place from 2.15pm on Sunday and a host of civic dignitaries have been invited.
New Lord Mayor Coun Campbell was a member of the Territorial Army Royal Engineers.
Members of his old unit, 106 Field Squadron, based at Bailey Barracks, Greenhill, will form a guard of honour for Coun Campbell as he enters the service.
Coun Campbell spent a decade in the Territorial Army, working his way up to the rank of Sergeant, and he was also a member of the Army Cadet Force.
