AN ARMED robber who pulled a gun on a fast food restaurant worker is being hunted by police.

The masked man entered the KFC restaurant at West Bars, Chesterfield, at night-time and demanded money while brandishing the firearm.

But the staff member behind the counter refused to hand over any cash, and the offender left the takeaway and walked up Foljambe Road.

The worker said the weapon looked like a small handgun.

The offender is described as white and around six feet tall.

He was wearing a hooded top and a black baseball cap decorated with gold lettering, and his face was covered with a bandana.

The robber also appeared to have a tattoo on the right side of his neck.

The attempted robbery happened at around 11pm on Monday, and police are appealing for witnesses and information to help with their investigation.

Call Derbyshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

No-one at the KFC restaurant was available to speak to The Star about the incident yesterday.
