Events expert April Thompson will have her hands full this week after joining the team at Sheffield’s newest boutique hotel.
The 29-year-old’s first task at Halifax Hall in Endcliffe – a former University of Sheffield halls of residence which was revamped last year – is to coordinate the venue’s Valentine weekend.
Petals scattered on beds, a live pianist and champagne on arrival are all lined up to make stays extra special.
Events and wedding planner April, from Meersbrook, said: “I’m really enjoying working with brides and grooms at Halifax Hall.
“One of our summer 2015 wedding couples will be sampling our menu on Valentine’s Day so, to help them celebrate, we’re surprising them with a room upgrade and a bottle of champagne.
“It is one of the many special touches I’m introducing across the hotel’s events calendar.”
April has previously worked on large Sheffield events including the city centre Halloween carnival Fright Night.
Hotel manager Paul Foster said: “We’re working hard to ensure every guest experience is absolutely first class – it’s exciting to have another team member on board to help us achieve that.”
