A woman has been left with serious injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield.

Police are now trying to locate a driver who initially stopped at the scene but gave ‘inaccurate’ details.

The incident happened around 5.30pm on Monday, June 20. It’s thought a blue Peugeot 307 was involved and hit the pedestrian on Broomspring Lane in Broomhall.

Officers investigating the serious incident last week are asking for the driver of the blue Peugeot to come forward and help them with their enquiries.

The pedestrian, a 47-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “The driver of the Peugeot is reported to have stopped at the scene and provided details to a witness before leaving, but these details appear to be inaccurate.

“Despite extensive enquiries and a trawl of CCTV footage, officers have been unable to trace the driver.

“Police would therefore like to appeal to the owner/driver of a blue Peugeot 307, registration number FV03 RVN, to come forward and make contact.”
