A woman with a deformed hand is being hunted by police in connection with a distraction burglary in Doncaster.

She is one of two women wanted for questioning about the offence at the home of two vulnerable women at a property in Balby, on Wednesday, June 26, between 2.30pm and 3pm.

They knocked on the door and the resident has told police she vaguely remembered one of the women as someone she used to know, and let them both in.

Once inside, the women offered to make drinks and went into the kitchen while the resident was left in the living room.

The two women then reappeared from the kitchen and suddenly announced they had to leave and would be back later.

The women never returned and the occupant later discovered there was £100 missing from a tin in the kitchen.

The women are described as white and both were approximately 5ft tall.

One woman was aged between 27 and 29-years-old and had auburn coloured hair tied up in a bun.

The other woman was aged in her 40s and had black hair tied up in a bun. She is also believed to be unable to straighten her right hand and is thought to be from the Balby area.

Police would urge anyone who believes they may know the identity of the women, to contact 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident number 663 of June 26.
