Sheffield anti-trafficking charity City Hearts is appealing for toiletries and bedding for the men and women in their care.

Anti-trafficking manager Jen Baker said: “These trafficked women and families have typically been victims of sexual slavery or forced labour and often come to us with only the clothes they’re standing in.

“Our first priority is to give them the dignity of some warm clothes, underwear and other essentials while they are getting all the medical help and psychological support they need to start rebuilding their shattered lives.

“We are always looking for donations of clothing and single bedding and Star readers were so generous last Christmas during the harsh cold spell when we appealed for coats and single bedding.”
