Annual bike ride for charity

A SHEFFIELD group is holding its annual Two Peaks bike ride to raise funds for Esteli, Sheffield’s twin town in Nicaragua.

The event takes place on Sunday, July 1, and riders can choose to cycle routes of between 20 and 50 miles starting in Endcliffe Park and cycling out to Derbyshire.

The routes are clearly marked and there are check-in points with drinks and snacks, as well as a lunchtime stop for riders at Edale village hall.

For the last 25 years, the Esteli Society has supported health, social and educational projects in the Nicaraguan town of Esteli.

This year sees the start of a new project to encourage children’s participation in citizenship via the arts and media.
