AN ANIMAL sanctuary in Sheffield is appealing for an electrician to lend a helping hand.
Mill House Animal Sanctuary, in Mayfield Road, Fulwood needs help installing heaters in its new dog kennels.
The charity is willing to pay, but funds are limited.
A sanctuary spokesman said it was in desperate need of help in the cold weather.
He said “We urgently need a friendly electrician to install the new heaters into our new dog kennels.
“Our own electrician is on holiday until mid-January, so we can’t use the kennels until the heaters are installed.
“We’ll pay - but not very much.”
Mill House takes in all types of animals, including dogs, cats, chickens, cows, ducks, pigeons, and even pigs.
The sanctuary rehomes them wherever possible and says finding the right home is its priority.
The first animal was rescued more than 60 years ago, in 1948, when the sanctuary saved a pony called Dolly from the slaughterhouse.
Over the years, it has taken animals from all over the country - from the south coast to the Orkneys.
On average, the sanctuary has more than 200 animals in its care.
