A veterinary nurse’s love of animals is taking her on a fundraising mission.
Sarah Linley is embarking on a mammoth trek to raise funds for the Greek sanctuary where she has volunteered.
The 28-year-old is taking time out from her day job at Sheffield’s Springfield Vets in Firth Park to fly out to Peru and complete the 26-mile Inca trail.
Sarah, of Sothall, will scale the heights and climb over 11,000 ancient steps in Machu Pichu in aid of Halkida animal shelter, run by British charity workers to help abandoned and stray pets in Greece.
She said: “I have volunteered there six times in three years. The money I am raising will be going directly to the shelter to buy food for the animals – who are fed just a few times a week – and the neutering of local strays and shelter animals to prevent countless more puppies and kittens being born.”
