Athletics fans can look forward to a top new name on the track next season - Jessica Ennis-Hill.
Sheffield’s golden girl took to Twitter to thank fans for their well-wishes after her ‘perfect’ wedding day - and signed off with her new married name.
“Thank you for all the lovely messages! We couldn’t have wished for a more perfect day!” she tweeted.
She ended her message from ‘Mrs Jessica Ennis-Hill’ adding: “I love it :)” .
National treasure Jess wed long-term boyfriend Andy Hill at picturesque St Michael and All Angels Church in Hathersage on Saturday.
Her Twitter thank you came after thousands of her 1,192,823 followers congratulated the heptathlete on her big day.
Jessica, 27, met Andy when they were both pupils at King Egbert’s School in Dore. They got engaged at Christmas 2010, but put wedding plans on hold while Jess trained for London 2012, in which she took Olympic gold.
Jess’ wedding dress was such a closely guarded secret she approached the church doors covered in a white cloak - but the designer of her ivory gown has now been revealed as Monique Lhuillier. The sleeveless wrap bodice and ruffled skirt was paired with a floor-length veil and a bouquet of cream and pink roses.
Jess was accompanied by four bridesmaids in floor-length peach dresses, and dad Vinnie, who walked his daughter up the aisle to Pachelbel’s Canon.
