A DEVOTED grandson will pound the pavements to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society after his grandfather was diagnosed with the disease.
British Gas David Beech is taking part in the Manchester 10km run on May 15 in honour of his granddad Derek McDonald who has lived with the condition for the past two years.
The 25-year-old from Wadsley Bridge has set up a website about the disease, with the aim of providing an online resource which relatives and carers can visit to find out information and advice.
The charity funds care for people living with the disease and research into causes and treatments.
Visit www.AlzheimerAwareness.com to see David’s website, where you can also sponsor him in his 10km challenge.
