I am emailing in relation to the letter regarding the safety of the slide in Clifton Park.
I noted Rotherham’s MBC response to the criticism was that “it gives tremendous challenge and fun to thousands of children”.
Well I would like RMBC to add this 71-year-old man to that list too.
I often visit the park with my grandchildren and joining them on the slide is good fun, not to mention good exercise too.
What next? Should we stop kids going on swings and roundabouts or tell them not to climb because of the possibility of an accident? Accidents happen but thankfully they are rare and shouldn’t be a reason to stop folk enjoying themselves, so good on RMBC for standing firm on this.
