PUPILS went on a search for Santa - parading by lantern light through a Sheffield suburb.
Youngsters from Birley Spa Primary left their lessons to find their way through Hackenthope to the great man’s grotto.
Thanks to funding from Sheffield Homes, Hackenthorpe Tenants and Community Association and the Wildlife Trust, Father Christmas and his wife Mother Christmas set up home in a woodland grotto for one night only.
The parade left school and made its way down to Dyke Vale Park where Mr and Mrs Claus were waiting to greet the children.
Sheffield Homes south east area manager Paul Voyse said: “We were really pleased to be involved with the Christmas parade at Hackenthorpe.
“It was a chance for the whole community to get together and enjoy the festivities - and the kids were able to meet Santa a little bit earlier this year!”
