Proud parents are bringing along their kids in droves to The Star’s Cute Kids competition and little Alfie Marples, from Southey Green, was one of the first to enter the photographic contest.
Alfie, aged two-and-a-half, was snapped at the Mothercare store on Eyre Street in Sheffield city centre, where the Star’s Cute Kids competition is running until Saturday.
Anyone can take their youngsters to have their picture taken by a professional photographer.
An individual photo of every child will appear in a special keepsake supplement in The Star, to be published after the event.
Family, friends and readers are then asked to submit their nominations for the cutest youngsters.
Each winner receives a Mothercare gift voucher and a black and white acrylic print of their child’s photograph.
There will be one winner in each of three age categories for boys and girls: 0 to 12 months, 13 to 24 months and 25 to 36 months.
The competition is continuing at the store from 10.30am to 4.30pm every day this week.
