A PETITION has been launched calling on the Government to make Air Ambulance services exempt from paying duty on the fuel their helicopters use.

Godfrey Bloom, UKIP MEP for Yorkshire and The Humber, is urging local residents to sign a petition, pointing out it costs £7,200 a day to operate the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

He said: “This is a cause worth supporting and I would urge everyone who can to go on-line and sign up to this petition.”
