ADOPTION service workers have been praised by the Government’s education watchdog for ‘outstanding’ efforts.
Ofsted said it found ‘committed, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and skilled’ staff who make sure children’s needs are ‘well met’ in Derbyshire.
The inspection team added children are engaged in ‘meaningful activities’ with adoptive families to develop confidence and self esteem, and there is plentiful information provided to anyone considering adopting a child.
The report added: “Matching children with adopters is a real strength of the agency, which ensures children benefit from stable families who can meet their needs.”
Areas where the service could improve were in obtaining the feelings of younger children and the timing of life story books and later letters.
