Adam Hague is setting his sights high.

The ambitious 17-year-old hopes to pole vault his way to victory - and the opportunity to represent Great Britain at the next Commonwealth and Olympic games.

The Barnsley College student is currently ranked as the top junior pole vaulter in the world with a record-breaking personal best of five meters.

Adam, of Kimberworth in Rotherham, also hopes to qualify for the World Championships, which will take place in Beijing this August.

He told The Star: “Travelling and being involved in a sport are two of the best things you can do as a young person; I’ve had so much support and it has been fantastic to go to different countries and compete.”

Adam is currently studying for his diploma in Sport.
