POLICE officers will join forces with others agencies to tackle issues of concern to local residents in Heeley in a ‘Week of Action’ next month.
The exercise will run from Monday, June 13 until Saturday, June 18 and will see organisations working in the area to tackle crime, environmental and highways issues along with repairs to communal areas and properties.
A festival is to be held in Heeley to coincide with the last day of the initiative.
Agencies involved in the Week of Action held a recent community walkabout to talk to local residents to gain an understanding of the most pressing issues in the community.
During the week extra police officers will be on patrol.
Similar Weeks of Action are also planned for Gleadless Valley, Woodseats, Norton, Lowedges, Chancet Wood, Bradway and Batemoor over the summer.
