Ian McColl, aged 63, of Barkby Road, Wincobank, told Action Desk he’s been wrangling with Floors 2 Go on London Road for three months after ordering some flooring on September 2.

As the weeks rolled by, Mr McColl said he asked for a refund after continued delays from the company to order the stock in and fit it at his home.

The 63-year-old said he even tried to resolve the situation while he was on holiday and haven’t been able to look after his two-year-old grandson because the floors had been ripped up for months.

Mr McColl said he’s dealt with three separate managers from the store and cancelled plumbers and decorators due to the flooring delays.

He ended up paying out more money to a another flooring firm who managed to order the stock, and fit the product within a week - describing the firm ‘absolutely fantastic’.

“It’s been an absolute nightmare, the amount of times me and my wife have been down to try and sort it out - I’ve lost count,” he said.

“We’ve been given so many false promises and after a while I demanded my money back. That took nearly three months.

“We couldn’t have my grandson round it wasn’t safe for him. The house was a mess for ages.

“It was a good job I paid on the credit card. We went to Citizens Advice and they told us to contact the card company who have retrieved the majority of it.

“We’re still in the process of another £200 we gave floors 2 Go to change the type of wood we were getting.

“After everything that’s gone on, we’d just like an apology from the firm, it’s caused so much stress.”

Action Desk was told the Floors 2 Go’s regional manager would respond to Mr McColl’s complaints on two occasions but no one was available to comment.
