Action Desk: Council to look again at '˜unsafe pavement' after woman's injury

A woman is demanding Sheffield Council take action to sort out an '˜unsafe' pavement where she was hospitalised after injuring her wrist.

Deborah Foster sent a letter to Action Desk and said she has had numerous trips to the Northern General Hospital for treatment on her wrist after two falls near her home on Maltravers Road in Wybourn.

She claims the council have told her there is ‘nothing they can do’.

A Streets Ahead spokesperson said: “We are sorry to hear about Ms Foster’s falls.

“We last had a report about the condition of the pavement in 2015. Our inspectors visited then but didn’t find any defects or safety issues, and we let Ms Foster know about this inspection.

“In light of this report we will inspect the pavement and repair any defects we find.

“If anyone wishes to report any problems with pavements please contact us by emailing [email protected] or calling 0114 273 4567.”
