A win-win case for Lib Dems

Have your say

the letter from someone lambasting Labour on their first 100 days in power, in which they called Coun Dore a ‘Scarlet Pimpernel’ then requested anonymity, could have come from Lib Dem HQ. Also, the Government has never stopped blaming Labour for having to make enormous cuts. Now the Lib Dems snipe at Labour who have to run the city with a £50m budget cut, imposed by a Lib Dem-Conservative government. It’s a win-win situation for the Lib Dems, isn’t it?

Council offices

Further to the story (Aug 31) about fitting out new Rotherham council office, can I say that while the spend on the building is £30m, the true furnishing figure (fit-out costs) is £12.923m not £9.928m, as reported.

The council is trying to say that the extra £2.995m relates to the cost of contracted building works and not to additional fit-out costs. On the other hand, could it be that the final building cost is £32.995m and the furnishing bill (fit-out costs) £9.928m?

Faulty lights

how long does it take to replace four street lights? Nearly five weeks ago I first reported these lights and they’re still out of order. When I eventually spoke to a human instead of a recording, I was told Leeds was responsible and it would be reported to them. But to no avail.
