Hesley Village is a unique community for people with learning difficulties, autism and challenging behaviour.

It employs around 500 people, mainly from the local area, and residents range in age from 19 to their late 30s.

Hesley Village provides a range of vocational activities and many of the goods produced are on sale in Handmade for You.

Goods on sale include bespoke jewellery, a wide range of natural soaps and other beauty products, mosaic goods and a selection of candles. All of the products are handmade by residents.

The residents of Hesley Village and their support workers staff the shop, which gives them valuable experience in meeting people and learning retail industry skills, including stock taking, taking payment for goods and dealing with customers.

Hesley Village has a range of purpose-built workshops where the residents can learn a wide range of skills.
