I FEEL I need to warn Sheffolk about the potential costs of travelling to London.
I went to Twickenham last year with my wife and despite a long journey arrived at the ground for a great game of rugby. About a week later, I received a letter from Transport for London informing me of a fine, because I had stopped on a box junction in Kew. Within a very short timescale and, despite repeated attempts to pay online, the cost reached £185. I sent a cheque, with a letter of complaint, to TfL, who refused to offer any kind of rebate and ‘consider the matter closed’.
So if you are going to London by car for the Cup Final/Wimbledon/Olympics – just be aware that you may get a nasty surprise that will increase the cost of your day!
