IT was an idea with a difference.
And the results were a glowing success.
Visitors to Weston Park in Crookesmoor, Sheffield, were invited to turn their hands to make floral – inspired lanterns which they created in the day and then were lit up a dusk.
The free event also featured a fire spinning event. The project was arranged by Art in the Park which runs monthly community art events in parks and green spaces in and around Upperthorpe, Netherthorpe and Langsett.
The team of two part-time workers, supported by enthusiastic volunteers come up with ideas to enable people to enjoy the outdoors, explore the environment and get to know each other through creative activities such as sculpture, photography, painting, music.
The team encourages both adults and children to be creative, to have fun and to meet other people from their community.
