Watch crucial budget meetings live

SOUTH Yorkshire residents can be part of public meetings discussing the region's police and fire authority budgets from the comfort of their own homes when they are broadcast live on the internet.
The budget for the Police Authority will be announced today, followed by the Fire Authority budget on Monday.

The authority will also discuss the recommended increase in the precept for next year.

The webcasting facility was launched last November to show important meetings live on the internet, becoming the first statutory bodies in South Yorkshire to introduce it.

Log onto www.southyorks.public-i.tv to watch. Both meetings begin at 10am.
