GREEN Party councillors are calling for timber-framed buildings created by a Sheffield company to be used for social housing in the city.
Oakworth Homes, based at Crown Works, Rotherham Road, has been visited by Coun Bernard Little, who was "impressed" with the quality of what is on offer.

Coun Little, who represents Central ward, said: "Once clad with a brick outer walls, they look just like any other house. All the wood used is from well-managed environmentally-sound forests.

"They can be built up to seven storeys high and are very easy to insulate to the best low carbon building standards."
