A SHEFFIELD sports centre has introduced a range of Friday fitness sessions to keep the whole family in good health.
Concord Sports Centre has launched a programme of activities including children's fitness, leisure pool sessions and healthy meals available every Friday at the Shiregreen Lane venue.

Youngsters between the ages of 10 and 15 will be given access t
o the fitness suite under the supervision of adults and trained members of staff from 3pm as well as a Kids Cardio Blast session on the centre's treadmills and cross trainers.

Healthy children's meals are on offer from 4pm followed by Wet and Wicked at 7.30pm in the pool involving raft races and team games.

Emma Lindop, health and fitness manager at the Sheffield International Venues-managed sports centre, said: "These sessions are an ideal way of getting the family involved in activities.

"Friday evenings are a good chance to release all the stress of school and work and one of the best ways to do that is to exercise.

"It's a great routine to get into and with all the activities now on offer, there is a wide variety for people to try."

It's a welcomed move by Concorde sports to introduce an initiative to improve the health and well-being of Sheffield's youth. However, they should also review the policy of not allowing free access to the kicks football pitches on Sunday's even though they are rarely used on Sunday's!

Instead of sub-contracting a security firm to ensure kids do not climb over the fence and play football, they should instead allow these kids to play for free and in return receieve good PR!

Review your policies Concorde!
