JUNE was bustin' out all over at a Sheffield bingo hall.
Mecca Bingo club threw a special birthday party for all its members called June.

And after discovering they also had members called April and May they too were invited to join in the celebrations.

Mecca Bingo on Penistone Road threw a VIP party complete with special games of bingo, cabaret, free champagne and goody bags for the ladies.

The event attracted five Junes and three Mays but no Aprils.

June Ward, aged 71, from Parson Cross, enjoyed the party with June Shaw, 76, from Stannington, June Shepherd, 73, from Ecclesfield, June Fletcher, 60, from Killamarsh, and June Peet, 59, from Beighton.

None of the Junes knew each other by name before - but agreed they'd be chatting to each other from now on.

The Mays were also happy to be invited to join the celebrations.

"I feel very special, it's a lovely idea and nice of them do this for us," said May Trickett, 67-year-old from Stannington, a regular on Mondays and Sundays.

Club general manager Christian Jackson said the idea for the party came by chance.

"It was pure coincidence that I noticed we had well over 30 club members who were named June and seeing as it was the start of June I thought it would be a nice idea to throw them a special June party in their honour."
