SHEFFIELD MP Angela Smith has resigned from her job as a ministerial aide, The Star can reveal.
Ms Smith has stepped down from her role as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Treasury Minister Yvette Cooper.

The Sheffield Hillsborough MP said she wanted the freedom to concentrate on beefing up the powers of local councils to take control of b
us services and ensuring that a coastal path is established around the UK.

Earlier this year, Ms Smith was on the brink of quitting over the controversial abolition of the 10p tax rate.

The Prime Minister was forced to break off talks he was having in Washington to telephone Ms Smith and persuade her to stay.

So, my MP wants to concentrate upon the establishing of a coastal path around the UK. She is elected to represent her constituency, yet sees fit to spend her time on this. How does a coastal path impact upon me and her other constituents? She should spend her time looking into issues that effect North Sheffield. I am sure that she will have plenty of spare time to look after coastal paths after the next election, when she is sure to be unemployed.
