FANS of South Yorkshire Pop Idol finalist Sam Nixon are going computer crazy for his talents.
The internet has been inundated with messages of support for the Barnsley teenager who is among the final contestants.
Six websites have been dedicated to him in the three months since he entered the competition, and more members are signing up dail
y to boost the catering student's dream of becoming the country's next singing sensation.
Alongside Sam Nixon.co.uk and the Sam Nixon fanbase (www.sam-nixon-fanbase.cjb.net), is the aptly titled Sam Nixon Hair Appreciation Society (groups.yahoo.com/group/Sam-Nixon), in honour of the 17-year-old's quirky hairstyle.
Other sites include www.sam-the-man.com, sam-nixon.org and devoted.to/samnixon.
Later this week The Star will give every reader a glossy poster of the second-year catering support in a show of our support. And we will continue to support Sam throughout the contest and beyond.
Sam's singing talents reached fever pitch during the last Pop Idol show, when all four judges praised his disco performance of the Jackson 5 hit Blame It On The Boogie.
Music guru Simon Cowell even tipped him for the top saying: "If I had a quid or two I might put it on you to win this competition."
As well as Sam's family, who make a weekly trip to London from their home in Monk Bretton to support the up-and-coming star, other fans include staff at Holgate School, Barnsley - where Sam was once a pupil.
Former tutor Christine Hawley has said: "Sam is a superb young man. He was happy, helpful and courteous - everything that you could wish for in a student and full of life."
