YOU can't miss all the adverts about switching your energy supplier - but is it worth the hassle?
The answer from one Action Desk reader is a resounding "Yes!"

Joe Stevens, aged 35, of Sheffield Road, Barnsley, was paying £27 a month for electricity and £24 a month for gas with nPower. He clicked on to uSwitch, input a few details, and within
seconds was presented with a table listing suppliers offering cheaper deals.

Joe had a few queries and rang a uSwitch operator for advice.

She advised him E.ON was about to cut prices making it the best deal. So Joe signed up for gas and electricity there and then, uSwitch and E.ON handled the changeover, and all he had to do was provide final meter readings.

His total energy bill has fallen from £51 to £37 a month - an 18 per cent saving. Joe said: "It made me realise energy firms don't have your best interests at heart.

"They're happy to profit from your inertia."
