NHS dental cash boost

DENTAL patients could benefit from an extra £400,000 in funding to increase their access to NHS care in Sheffield.
Changes to dentists' working practices mean fewer NHS dentists are taking on new patients, making it difficult for people without a regular surgery to access appointments.

Now Sheffield Primary Care Trust is offering cash to 17 practices if they continue to accept new NHS patients, or if they give faster treatment to patients waiting to receive NHS dental care.

Sheffield PCT is also injecting a further £70,000 into two orthodontic practices.
