MYSTERY clusters of lights in the sky have baffled residents in north Sheffield.
Dad-of-two Lee Norman, of Wordsworth Avenue, Parson Cross, said: "We heard the next-door neighbour shouting to his partner and looked out of the window to see six orange, glowing lights all in a row, flying above our house.

"They just floated acro
ss, then disappeared. There were more rows for about five or 10 minutes, followed by a noise like a jet engine.

"Quite a few people came out of their homes to have a look and I phoned the police. I'd never seen anything like it before and I'm curious about what they were."

Mum-of-two Dawn Sweeting, of Ecclesfield, also witnessed the lights.

She said: "Myself and my husband were in the garden. In the sky in the distance we could see five orange lights in a cluster heading in our direction.

"The lights were bright and moving quite quickly. They came overhead, were quite low and didn't make a sound.

"As they passed over the house they just seemed to disappear as if someone had switched a light off. When we looked back in the direction they came we saw another three, same size, same speed, no sound."

South Yorkshire Police confirmed that they received one call reporting the lights but a spokeswoman added: "As no other incident of this nature were reported, the incident was closed."

One explanation for the mystery lights could be that someone released Chinese lanterns into the sky.

It sounds like Chineese lanterns to me, it's about time people stopped making such a fuss about a bit of paper and a candle. It's obvious form the line that reads they made no sound and floated across in a line.
Get a grip people

For the first time in human history, I present here incontrovertible evidence of existence of tens of thousands of UFO in the Earth's atmosphere, which can be seen by any person in any part of the world at any time.

Whilst I do hold out hope for ET, this unfortunately does sound like those damn chinese lanterns. I saw some myself over hillsborough on Nov 4th. You need to see the NASA footage on You Tube, they are definitely NOT chinese lanterns!

since its been on the news with the wind turbine i cant see the turbine being damaged by hot air paper lantern. me and my partner have both witnesed orange lights in the sky before christmas same as the one seen in fife scotland. it seemed like they was on fire.there were several traveling about 10.30pm heading north they werent low in the sky probably thousands of feet up and looked about plane size. i just put them down to planes and being so high they were catching some kind of reflection up maybe off the sun?but i dont know when i mentioned this to my mother she too confirmed a different sighting with my brother but not being very high?as any one else seen these sightings in south yorkshire that asnt mentioned it?
