Murdered cabbie's son firearms charge

THE son of a taxi driver executed behind the wheel of his cab has been charged with a firearm offence.
Imran Khan, aged 25, formerly of Abbeyfield Road, Pitsmoor, was arrested by South Yorkshire Police when he returned to the country from Pakistan.

He had spent a number of months in the country after his 53-year-old father Younis Khan was killed, o
nly coming back briefly for the trial of brothers David and Ashley Cohen who were convicted of murder.

Khan is charged with possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence on March 13, 2007.

David Cohen, 29, of Philadelphia Gardens, Upperthorpe, and Ashley Cohen, 26, of Clough Wood View, Oughtibridge, were convicted of murdering Younis Khan on the basis that they masterminded the shooting on March 14, 2007.

The brothers were jailed for life and ordered to serve a minimum of 30 years behind bars before they could be considered for parole.
